I don't like that song too much, but I like this song by that same group. It's all after my time. I'm an old geezer--58:

So I had to find out what the heck it was. I gotta admit, the visual in my minds eye was better than the original artist. But at least I was able to figure out what the words were.

That CCR song brings back memories. I think I was in about the 8th grade.

Glenn, I'll bet you just love this song. I know how much you like hippies and Vietnam war protestors:

Song has a good beat, but I definitely don't think that was a real move of the Holy Spirit!

Yes, I always liked that song, and especially the studio version. The lead singer (Philippe Wynne) is from my hometown of Cincinnati. Not too long after that song he keeled over of a heart attack when he was at a club in California I believe. Do you remember the controvery about the song "One of a Kind Love Affair"? Was Philippe Wynne saying in one verse, "You just got to **** her..."

    Here's a Spinner's song I'll bet you've never heard:

I know it's out of season, but I think this is my favorite Jim Reeves song:

Your right Ex...I don't remember that Spinners song. I really did not get into the Motown stuff till much later in life.

Hey.....this was actually the very first album I ever owned. LOL http://www.amazon.com/Up-Date-The-Pa.../dp/B00004VW4R

This song still holds it's own after all these years IMHO. David Cassidy was really a good singer at the end of the day. And boy did I have a crush on Susan Dey.

And this was the first 45 I ever owned.

I soon advanced to albums by the Beatles, CCR, ELP, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, ............Gentle Giant.................

But check out the views. Well over 600,000,000 hits just since summer of last year. Guess there's a bunch o' folks out there who got it stuck in their head as well. This talk radio show I was listening to started to use it for the bumper music. Sheesh, drove me nuts, couldn't get it out of my head. Till I saw the vid.

I do remember that unicorn song. That seems like a 60's song to me. How old are you?

The first album I ever bought in my life was this double album in 1973 or 1974. I bought it at a store in Cincinnati called Swallen's, but they are no longer in business.

When I visited SF in like 1990, I went to a place called "Tower Records". Are they still there? I also went to Ghiradelli Square and a place called "Chocolate Heaven" on like pier 37 or pier 39. I really enjoyed the visit there--well, all except getting hit on by a bunch of gay guys on Market Street & Lombard Street.

The first thing you saw in coming to SF by ship (merchant tanker) was the big white sign that said "Ghiradelli".

Video of me and then the 2nd mate getting off the ship in SF. We are at anchor close to the Oakland Bay Bridge, but I cut the shots I had of it out of this short clip:

Crawling through and opening...LOL. Down there fixing a ground radial system? I pressume you guys used the hull of the ship for ground radial and the ocean for the ground?

The first album and 45 I ever bought on my own is a different category. The first 45 I ever bought was "I gotcha" by Joe Tex. The first album I bought on my own was Volume 4 by Black Sabbath.

The cofferdam I had to go down was about 3 foot square and it went to the bottom of the ship where there was a transducer that emitted short sound pulses (200KHz) to measure the depth of the water under the ship. The Coast Guard was not going to let us go until we got it fixed. Then at the bottom, I had to crawl like a worm through small openings in the ships hull plates to get to the transducer. We had to slide a hull cover closed before we could remove it. The ship could have sunk if things had really gone wrong. Then the cable on the new transducer came up short, and I had to splice it to the transceiver in the forecastle.

But I did use the ITT MacKay 1KW amp that was shunt fed to a 35 foot verticle with the entire ship's hull as a perfect ground plane. Man, I'm not kidding when I say I could cover 3/4ths of the world at the same time with that thing. I would have hams calling me from all over the world. Hams would comment that I was being called by stations all over the world that they couldn't even hear. I loved to run USB & SITOR/AMTOR doing this.

Saw them at Cincinnati Riverfront Colesium sometime in the mid 1970's. This is when concert tickets were $5, $6 or $7.50.
