The first album I ever bought in my life was this double album in 1973 or 1974. I bought it at a store in Cincinnati called Swallen's, but they are no longer in business.

When I visited SF in like 1990, I went to a place called "Tower Records". Are they still there? I also went to Ghiradelli Square and a place called "Chocolate Heaven" on like pier 37 or pier 39. I really enjoyed the visit there--well, all except getting hit on by a bunch of gay guys on Market Street & Lombard Street.
The first thing you saw in coming to SF by ship (merchant tanker) was the big white sign that said "Ghiradelli".

The cofferdam I had to go down was about 3 foot square and it went to the bottom of the ship where there was a transducer that emitted short sound pulses (200KHz) to measure the depth of the water under the ship. The Coast Guard was not going to let us go until we got it fixed. Then at the bottom, I had to crawl like a worm through small openings in the ships hull plates to get to the transducer. We had to slide a hull cover closed before we could remove it. The ship could have sunk if things had really gone wrong. Then the cable on the new transducer came up short, and I had to splice it to the transceiver in the forecastle.
But I did use the ITT MacKay 1KW amp that was shunt fed to a 35 foot verticle with the entire ship's hull as a perfect ground plane. Man, I'm not kidding when I say I could cover 3/4ths of the world at the same time with that thing. I would have hams calling me from all over the world. Hams would comment that I was being called by stations all over the world that they couldn't even hear. I loved to run USB & SITOR/AMTOR doing this.

Saw them at Cincinnati Riverfront Colesium sometime in the mid 1970's. This is when concert tickets were $5, $6 or $7.50.
