    Our Ice Bar

Just wanted to show you guys what we built ourselves....

Definitely made before I started working here. But This is our Ice Bar.....basically a floating bar counter with a refrigerated top that keeps drinks cold as you sit, eat, play pool, darts, etc.. list goes on.

Designed and built by us at Marking Refrigeration here in Omaha Nebraska

I'll see if I can get more pics. I wasn't part of designing or building it but we have built 2 for local bars around town
Feel free to ask any questions

Or find out more about us at www.markingrefrigeration.com

How do you deal with it making my wings cold as I sit there enjoying a nicely chilled beverage?

If your wings are getting cold, you are not eating them fast enough.

Right...sorta like a cold plate if you will...
Only a certain area of the top is chilled so you can place food on some parts and beverages on another....

We did the heat load calculations, and sized an appropriate condensing unit that sits on the under side of the bar..
And yes...movable would be a better description, not floating

    Here's a thought.

Paint the top red and blue.

    The blue area is refrigerated.

Use the red part as a static condenser to keep hot food hot.

And that is really neat by the way.

What kind of temperature does the top run at?

    Dude...I like that lol

I think around 10F is what we ran the top at.....any much colder than that and the glass would freeze to the top really good and you couldn't pull it off...any warmer and it didn't cool all that well

    I've seen them under stone
They have a cold area and a hot.
The cold side is obvious because of the frost but the hot section could give someone a big suprise.
On bars I've seen just a cold strip that follows the bar. Pretty much just wide enough for a frosty beverage. Scott is yours the whole top?

I have some double walled plastic mugs somewhere. You put them in the freezer and the filler freezes up. Might work good for sipping cocktails.

I like the idea of the larger area over a rail due to it being able to hold pitchers as well.
