I got an 85. studied my ass off. At least 15 questions were really oddball. I've been in the steam industry for a decade and some of the questions really confused me. I know provisional oilers that only got in the low 70's so im keeping my fingers crossed

Yes I believe they will be laid off and replaced from the new list.

Are all/some oilers local 30 or DC 37?

Either local 30 or local 15 (DOT). Benny's u wouldn't be offered a provisional (temporary) job . It would be a permanent civil service off a DCAS list .

Does anyone know how many names were on the last Oiler list? And how many people were called off that list? I scored a 76 on this exam.

Anyone hear any updates re: the Oilers test?

My brother was called for the STW position with the DEP; the test was 2 years ago and he scored in the 70's. He is currently in training and the DEP folks are saying that didn't and can't just throw the test out. There is lots of movement / retirement in the DEP and a need for oilers. Right now it's a wait and see when DCAS is done doing their thing. This is only speculation; but the delay in getting an official score can be due to the high volume of test participants combined with the research required to reveiw all of the related experience. It is my understanding that the "Pass" rate was low (not sure what that means - especially since the official grades haven't been released). I would say to anyone who passed according to their preliminary score to keep hope; make sure you filled out your experience correctly (you can check online at DCAS website); and be ready to piss clean...
