    I know you said it runs on any 24v tap, but does it change speeds as you do this?

    I have had problems with nest stats that have switches in the sub base.

    Whatever is controlling your motor has failed.... either the fan relay has welded closed or the board scr has failed shorted.

    I was doing a startup on a Carrier system once, fan motor would run constantly. Easy solution, the plug on the board was connected backwards. I flipped it around the right way and everything worked perfectly.

    Hi Mason, I am having the same "x13 motor constant run" issue here. It is a 230VAC x13. I pulled off all speed tabs, pulled off C tab, leaving ONLY L-115V, G-0V, N-115V, and the motor still runs. I have previously checked the thermo switch, checked heat sequencer, checked fan relay, before I narrowed it down to the motor lol. I think my last resort is to replace the ECM head, but I wonder if I am missing anything that I can try. BTW, the ECM head looks perfect inside, capacitors, rubber seal, etc. Thank you very much.

    Do you guys know how old this thread is?
    I do a triple evac with nitro to remove non condensables.

    3 year old thread. Replace the motor. Next time start a new one.

    Payne PY3G unit, August 2013 vintage.

    Found this thread with the exact same problem I am having. So responding rather than starting a new thread.

    I thought I was going crazy. I tested voltage on all the connections on the board and nothing I could do, short of removing the line voltage connector would shut down the motor.

    I finally cut the power, removed the low voltage connector so there was absolutely no chance of any inputs from the control boards being applied to the fan motor and restored power to the unit. The fan started on its own.

    I'm sure somebody thinks having electronics built into the motor is a good idea, but I like to keep things simple. I hate the thought of a new motor, but it's about as cost effective as just replacing the electronics on a 7 year old unit.

    Cool X13 motors

    I've seen 2 of these x13 motors run constantly, in the past year or so. I replaced the module on one of them and that fixed the issue. However the other one was not on warranty and customer wanted a cheap solution, so I put relay on it (ICM277) breaking the L1 power going to the motor to NO terminal and put 24v green wire to close the power to the motor. Works!
    PS - I do not like X13 motors, they fail way too much!!

    But they are so expensive, you can make a lot more money selling them to the customer!

    Not sure why, but I have only replaced X13s in carrier type branded units. Static was lower than .5 when tested. But I never got the chance to test it with the old filters installed that I suspect were either too dirty, too restrictive, or both. On the thousands in Am Std units we installed, I never had a failed X13, only 1 failed ECM.
