Just like an ECM, the X motor is powered all the time by line voltage and low voltage switching selelcts the speed. They are more a constant speed motor, versus a constant CFM motor. Their blower curves look more like a PSC than an ECM.
Th programming cosists more of RPM, not Torque vs. RPM like an ECM. There are typicly 5 connections for low voltage on a X motor but they may not all be programmed on any given motor. You need to use the correct motor.
Also you might be hard pressed to find a GE X motor. Regal Beloit (bought GE's motor division a couple years ago) has their name on it. You may see "GE by Regal Beloit". Ge has allowed them to keep the GE name on the ECM's for the time being.
