Motor shaft cutting

I've always had a hard time holding the motor while cutting the shaft and I don't have room for a vise that wouldn't sit in the weather get rusty anyways.
So since most of my motors are 1/2" shaft and universal sized, I made this quick and easy tool to hold the motor while I cut.
Is there a better option on a truck?

I might drill it out to just over 5/8" for the larger shaft motors.

I don't have ac power on the truck and I'm usually not close to an outlet and by the time I run a cord and get a drill set up I can usually have it cut rather quickly with the hack saw.

I knew a guy that cut the shaft after the motor was installed but this might allow small chips to fall into the motor or bearing area.

I say do what ever is easiest for you, there are many good ways.
