    Got a job offer today

    Got on some email list awhile back (Tradesman International, who are they?). Up to $22 bucks an hour? Jeez, I was making more than that after a year and a half in this trade. And that was over 35 years ago. Is that a good wage for Inver Grove, MN?



    Hello [Mr, HVAC guy],

    Tradesmen International is currently seeking skilled Industrial Cleaners/Millwright Helpers for a project in Inver Grove, MN area.


    Pay up to $22.00/hr. based on experience

    $75.00 per day in per diem to those who qualify on all 7 days

    1+ month long

    40-60 hours a week



    Must have TWIC card, OSHA10, 40 Hour Hazwhopper and Confined Space certs

    Will need to pass pre-employment Hazmat Physical, respirator fit test & pass DISA drug test to qualify

    IGH would be in the twin cities metro.

    Should be $30 to $40 an hour or more.

    We hire 19 year old kids for $22 an hour.

    It seems kind of like that might be who they're looking for here. I'm not sure what a "skilled Industrial Cleaner/Millwright Helper" is, but I'd bet you don't need 7 years of school and 10 years of experience to be one.

    You apparently do need all of those certifications and some kind of fancy government background clearance though, so good luck to them with that.

    Whatever. Hey BB, I say you should take a month off from your currant job and go for it! I'll even pick you up from the airport if you promise to buy me lunch and split some of that fat per diem allowance with me.

    My last job was 60-70 hrs a week. Burned me out. Mostly refrigeration.

    Hooked up with a company that does 99% commercial A/C.

    Getting older, that 40 hr work week is more healthy for me !!
