    HVAC/R simulators for computers?

I remember a while ago in tech school we had this program for troubleshooting practice called simutech. I tried finding it and it is REALLY expensive, does anybody know if there are other good ones out there that are good as well? I tried downloading simutech illegally (dont tell on me) but i cant seem to find it. I mostly work on residential a/c and heat and I am looking to get into refrigeration, freezers, chillers...I figure this would be a good way to go about it since it is kind of hard to find refrigerators to work on at the moment.

Many supply houses including Johnstone carry learning software, they might have something similar to what you are looking for.

I didn't know supply houses carried that kind of stuff. Thanks!

If anybody knows where i can get it without selling a kidney that would be even better.

Does anyone know what happened to this company, SIMUTECH? There troubleshooting simulation programs were pretty good but the company seems to have disappeared, their website doesn't work and their phone number seems disconnected. Did someone else buy them out? Maybe an HVACR textbook publisher?

    OOPS! Double Post.

    Sorry.
Can someone please explain to me -
Why is there never enough time to do it right the first time, but plenty of time to do it twice?

    Give this a try: http://www.refrigerationbasics.com/

It had helped me a lot when I first got into the trade.

Not too much graphics, but good diagrams and schematics.

I think there was a free demo version which was basically a partial of the program.

I second Interplay. They had a very good simulator that was pretty close to field conditions.

Check the specs of software. A couple of the discs I recently got from Johnstone were outdated and would not run on windows 8 or above.
