Do you have a variable speed blower?
I am considering having my thermostat replaced with a "humidity assisted thermostat".
My definition of an energy assisted thermostat is a thermostat which turns on the AC/HP according to temperature (only) and runs until the temperature is at the desired level. If the humidity set point is lower than the actual humidity, then the AC/HP will continue to run until the humidity is within range or the temperature is X degrees lower than the set point.
I have read the manual for the Honeywell TH8321 which will lower the temperature by 3 degrees if the humidity criteria is not met. I wonder if 3 degrees is too much.
I would like feedback from anyone who has experience with any models of "humidity assisted thermostats".
Thanks,
Dave

The temp drop is up to 3°. It can also be restricted to 1, or 2°.
Yes, that is in the install manuals.
Do any of the Honeywell's have energy monitoring capabilities? One of the quotes I'm reviewing calls for a new Honeywell (not sure of model) but I'd like to be able to see how many hours the 2-stage furnace is running in each mode, likewise for the a/c.
