Bruce was not married but had a fiance' named Wendy who moved in with him shortly before they were to be married. When Bruce found that his Mother was ill he flew to be with her. He picked up her and all of her belongings and brought her to live with him. Several months later she was diagnosed with terminal cancer and died about a month ago.

His mothers wishes were to be cremated. Bruce had the same wishes.

It's a little early as of right now but as soon as I have more knowledge of the arrangements I will post here.

For those who wish to send a card or other please use his business address at ARPA.

If you would like to send an email to the family you may do so. Julian, his business partner, will gather them and make a portfolio and give them to the family.

I never met Bruce in person but have had numerous exchanges with him on this site. The testimonies in this thread confirm what I suspected...that Bruce was a cool, calm, collected, big-hearted MAN among men with a leadership capacity far beyond the norm.

    Be at peace, Bruce.
No reserve. No retreat. No regrets.

    Gosh, I remember meeting him!

I am truly sorry for the passing of a fine man. My prayers and sympathy go to the survivors.

Hopefully, we will see him on the other side and enjoy some stories from this life.

I am saddened beyond words, and so I borrow those of Harriet Beecher Stowe.

The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid
    and deeds left undone.
    Rest in Peace, Bruce.

I met and was fortunate enough to hang out with Bruce at the past 3 Comfortechs. He was a very sweet person. This is a terrible loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

I've come to know Bruce fairly well through HVAC-Talk, HVAC Comfortech, and the many phone calls and emails we shared with each other over the years. He was a big man with an even bigger heart and my respect and admiration for him grew each year. He was fast with advice, a determined listener, and a quick wit; a talented businessman, entrepreneur, and coach; and he'd give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.

Bruce, your loss was SO unexpected and it pains me greatly to have to say goodbye. HVAC-talk will not be the same without you. My condolences to your immediate family, to Wendy, and to your extended family here on the site. Rest in peace my friend. You are already missed.

We are planning to run a story about Bruce and his life in the HVAC industry in the May issue of the magazine, as well as here on Htalk and on the Contracting Business website. If you had a relationship with Bruce Norman, online, in person, business or personal, we'd love to hear from you. If you have a good picture of him that we can publish in the magazine, please send a digital version of it me.

I'm breaking the rules here, but it's worth it for this great man -- please send your anecdotes and photos to me at mike.weil@penton.com, post them here on H-talk, or Tweet them to me @msweil. You can also share with me on Facebook if you so desire.
