Interesting phenomenon, wondered how many others have seen it's effect first hand.
I have worked for major aerospace company for 54 years. In first 50 year received only 4 patents, had submitted dozens of invention ideas, company owns all patents and they do the legwork, etc. If company applies for patent, 99% probability of patent being granted.
Now, just in this last year (2020) there were 12 applications with my name. 2019 IIRC 5.
Pretty much ascribe this to patent trolls, company want to protect all IP with patents vs. trade secret.
Anyone with similar experiences? NOt complaining, we get a $1000 check for each patent at time it is applied for.
