Corrosion normal on almost new Goodman furnace?
Hello,
I am wondering if it is normal to have some corrosion (likes like battery acid) on the outside of the furnace body in a couple places? Its a Goodman furnace on natural gas, about 6 months old. It seems to be heating and venting fine.
Just want to see if this is normal or if I should have an HVAC service person come out and look at it.
Thanks in advance.

No in my opinion that's not normal.

Corrosive condensate what does your installer have to say.

I’ve had a hard time getting ahold of the installer but I’ll update when I do. Any idea what the main causes of this would be?
Thank you

Condensation leak from the exhaust and or drain.
Must be addressed.

Give the Installing Contractor a call, should have 6 months left on your labor warranty, no?
Did you or the Contractor register your furnace and any other new equipment that was installed, as the manufacturers warranty decreases if never registered.

I will keep trying to get ahold of them. As far as I know they did register it. In any case it sounds like I need to get it looked at ASAP.
Thanks

Look it up yourself, if they never registered it , register it yourself, doesn’t seem like they have your best interest at heart if they have not returned your call or you can’t make contact with them? Need the serial number and possibly the model number also.

One photo looks like it is the evaporator coil, therefore an a/c issue.
The crusty stuff is from an exhaust/condensate leak. This is usually due to improper installation or loose connection.

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing the greatest amount of free meals and stamps EVER.
Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us to "Please Do Not Feed the Animals". Their stated reason for this policy "... the animals become dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."
