    Usually. The Sikorsky sky crane is unique in that it has third pilot who faces backwards and can take control during a lift. So he could have been in control and not the aircraft commander. Makes it a bit fuzzy

    Never knew that , but Australia does not have much to do with the Sikorsky(in my area anyway).
    I know some of the 1&2 pilot Rotary Wing Aircraft do have remote drop controls.
    The primary function of the design engineer is to make things difficult for the fabricator and impossible for the serviceman.
