Compatibility of PVE oils
Good afternoon techs and happy Thanksgiving to all.
One short question: is it possible to top off the oil charge of a semihermetic with PVE 68 viscosity, if factory charged was done with PVE 32 viscosity?

As long as what’s in there with PVE, yes. Ideally if it could wait, get 32... but if it’s a gotta have, yes. It won’t hurt anything.

I’ve only seen PVE lubricant on scroll compressors in stationary refrigeration systems, that does not mean there are not others.
Each manufacture list recommended lubricant for specific applications.
Like BadDaddy said you better make sure it has and should have PVE in it.
