I really don't need to look up the meaning of Democracy to know you got it wrong. But a hint....It's about respect.

you still need to look it up the meaning of Democracy apparently..ROFLAMO!
only in your mind, its your personal interpretation of it, not as written.. "in Order to form a more perfect Union"
perhaps you should research how sedition was also used back in the day since you mentioned it...

Worked with our resident doper recently. Not sure how long he's been in the trade, maybe five years (?).
He hasn't learned the proper terminology yet, which means he cannot ask questions properly, or understand the answers he gets. Hasn't learned the simple things like what should your pressures be before you put your gauges on a system. Above all, and generally speaking, I would have to say it all stems from not having the ability to . . . . Remember anything.

I remember the first time I tried pot, my brother and I were around a camp fire on a big family get-a-way at some lake. Everyone went to bed and my little bro pulls out a joint. I was maybe 25 at the time. He was 15. I tried it and man I coughed for about 5 minutes then puked. Ever since then, just the smell of pot gets me sick. When I was doing residential service, there were many times I would take two steps into a place and then politely walk back out. I honestly could not handle how strong the smell of pot was in the home and had to leave or heave. That is the truth...I could deal with roaches, cat sh!t/piss, pigeon crap, etc, but the smell of pot just got to me.
I remember when my sister and I were room mates, she came home with a few hits of LSD. I remember that was a long torturous night. I laughed so hard that my chest and cheeks hurt for days, thus I never did that again, even though it was pretty fun. I became addicted to opioids in 1995 after a shoulder injury delivering freight. I did not know it was an addiction until I had trouble paying some bills, my wife said it was her or the percocet. I locked my self in our basement in 2000 and purged the demon on my own. I thought for two days there I was going to die, but have never touched a perc or oxy since. Loritabs never did anything for me, so I much later I would have one here and there but never feared I would relapse.
In March of 2016 I quit smoking cigarettes. I was at about a pack a half of American Spirit Yellows, and loved every puff. Nothing better than a cig in my mouth and working on rooftop units. When I found myself having to hide from my first grandchild, I realized it was time to stop and that was that, just stopped.
Alcohol, ummmmmmmmmmm, I love my booze. I am a very responsible drinker...he he he.
I am currently away from work since one of my co-workers MIGHT have covid, waiting for the results. In any case been relaxing with a 12 pack and a good bottle of gin. I would not say that I am an alcoholic, I can honestly just stop anytime, wouldn't care. But I sure enjoy the slight bit loss of inhibition that comes with a few beers and a shot or two of gin, my wife says I go from a control, work-a-holic freak, to a some what nice guy...go figure.
I have a slight porn addiction, my little bro calls grown married men Ninja-Baters.. Goes back to the old saying "What is the most sensitive part of a mans body when he is watching porn?" ........................his ears.
Alcohol is legal on a FEDERAL level and testing can tell when abouts I last drank, and laws are set up to dictate if I am legally intoxicated or not, whether by an employer or the authority. Until they can do this with marijuana, these arguments here on what an employer should or should not due is useless.

Every generation gets it's own heroes and it's own music. The WW2 generation had a fit over Rock & Roll.
My generation had R&R and the next got Micheal Jackson. Whodathunkit. At least they are still playing R&R.

We never did unless asked to by work comp or a customer. Here knowing someone has a substance abuse problem (we can all read between the lines, but when you have a failed test now its proof) can lead to termination problems. If you terminate someone due to a substance abuse problem and they claim that they are addicted and need help, now you are on the hook for rehab and you have to maintain a position for that individual once they complete rehab. We are a right to work state so we simply let them go without reason if you strongly suspect drug use. Now if you suspect drug use while observing their daytime work, it is being a problem.

How about if they get arrested for meth, don't show up for work, their work truck is not at their house, you give them a second chance and the same thing happens?

We do preemployment test and on event (vehicular accident, job site accident....)
The state and our insurance company dictate how our “drug free work place” program is implemented.
Your DOL and insurance company probably has many good resources to help you set up and manage your program.

Oh yeah, in the guy I was mentioning, he ended up racking up something like a $7,000 bill in tools at Home Depot. Of course, the bill did not get to the office until after he was fired. Guess he didn't care about his job, and figured the end was near. He said his card was stolen. Yeah, right.

Do you guys test for substances in your employees? (talking about weed obviously)
This has been an interesting conversation to follow.
So I was fired several months ago over something that has nothing to do with the fact I smoke weed.
Now. I smoked at home to offset the jitters I got with adderall medication once I found out I was ADHD by a medical professional.
“I smoke weed”.
“Why?”
“I get nervous when beginning projects and I don’t seem to finish paperwork”
Ok, well (after extensive testing and evaluation) we are going to suggest __mg ADHD medication and in two weeks let me know how you feel”.
I smoke weed. Mostly to take the edge off the prescription stimulants. Which honestly in the last year have gave a base to life, work, and how things in life operate. Basically the knowledge of achievers. (Yeah there is a lot more to this... like having the knowledge but can’t make it work type of stuff)
I’ve accepted I’m ADHD. In a way wish my past employer would have accepted some of the “side effects” (getting a little obstinate on occasion) cause I wouldn’t have anything but the “income tax” to worry about.
But because the “new corporation” wasn’t ok with it.... I’m on my own making a shit ton more money for the same customers. Because they called me.
Substance “abuse” is a bad designation. If anyone uses anything n a way that is illlegal they are bad. But would we think they same if you t was prescribed?
How many times have you driven home after dinner and thought “I shoulda got an Uber?”
Not that I am condoning the use of anything. But. If you can be a responsible adult and use whatever... why should it be illegal? Why should your employer take offense because you had a crazy party over the weekend?
“Oh, but they are not 100% on Monday”
And someone hungover is?
“Ok, but he said he was clean and we gave him a chance”
Well, apparently he was making the company some money, so you gave him__”
Yeah.
It’s alway about risk and the bottom line.
I saw an article where someone had said “if there are any reputable companies” that ‘let’ employees use.
In the supermarket business. If they don’t use something to take the edge off... that’s the ones to watch for. Cause they will explode. The same that “use”. Have found a way destress. And cope with the craziness.
We all have an addiction. Even if it’s an addiction to say we aren’t addicted.
Enjoy yours and leave the rest alone.

Many don’t know “professional” doctors Make commissions on every “Prescription” pushed by the manufacturers....the young 20 year olds saleswomen will do “anything it takes” to get a doctor signed on ..
I have to laugh when professionals “suggest” drugs to begin with as your body is a natural environment and artificial meds make some things way worse..
Here’s the thing...certain foods with the artificial ingredients also make people sick...it’s called allergic reactions..your body changes mentally first the physically...
I will always seek out simple testing by other professionals that look at what is causing the symptoms first..this should always be done first, just like a diet, then see what changes...it’s a process of elimination...
There are plenty of natural health doctors that know this...too much caffeine And sugar will cause The same effects like ptsd..it amplifies that on edge effect...There are others feel free to read it for yourself...
This is just a sample of what is out there..
