Shielded thermostat wire vs. non-shielded
I'm installing a temperature sensor for a walk-in freezer. This will get connected to a thermostat outside of the freezer. The manual of the thermostat recommends shielded 18 gauge wire. My question is, is shielded wire absolutely necessary? There isn't any large machinery around that may cause interference. Do you think I will get by with using standard non-shielded thermostat wire?
The wire I'm using is Southwire FAS/LVT Copper Thermostat Electrical Cable - 18/2
