    Where? Germany?

If this is in the states it isn’t legal.

    Conversion

Any system made with more than 5.25oz of R290 in it is illegal in the US.

And a CO2 system is designed way different than anything designed for propane.

Are you prepared to change all motors, disconnects, wiring, conduit, electrical panels in the pump room, etc to explosion proof?

Either you are pulling our leg or doing something completely unsafe per current standards (I say current because I am hoping to see the allowed amount increased to 16oz per system to alleviate some redundancy we have on some stuff. Redundancy is nice but there can be over kill)

Check with local/state/federal regulations before doing this conversion.

It a 17 cu foot glass door merchandiser. Just a test. We are going to convert to 134a after playing with it.

So you are telling me you have a single 17’ glass door merchandiser that runs on CO2?

I’d love to know who sells that equipment. Have some eco friendly customers that would buy it just because.

Now, “playing with it” is dangerous. The compressors, fan motors, contactors, relays... anything electrical HAS to he explosion proof. IF there is a leak and something bad happens, you and your company will be on the hook for any damages, injury or loss of life or limb that results from that conversion.

Even CO2 to 134a is not... man. Wtf are you doing? Why change it?

Hopefully they make it to beer time doing this. You are seriously putting you and the guys helping you in danger.

Unless you get me some equipment info on the R744 cases and how you plan to convert it to R290, I’m calling bullshit on this whole thread.

I did. This is a 134a compressor. Wanna see what happens when you do an usafe conversion? Next post.

So you lied about the original refrigerant. Are doing an usafe “conversion”, and don’t seem to care about yourself, employees, OR customers. I can only hope your service is better than your posts.

Be safe, I wish you best of luck.

Yep, that’s what happens. Propane leak, spark and kaboom. Already dreamed that, that why we converting to 134a for the final conversion. So were installing a Danfoss 134a compressor, filter drier, charge with propane, check pressure, subcooling, discharge temps. Review r-290 protocol. Drop charge, recharge with 134a. Check every thing again . And explain why you use oem parts on a r-290 unit. Just for training. You have to know these guy have never replaced a compressor before. Or charged a reach in. Hell they are going to learn a lot.

Ya know I a lot smarter than I appear. HaHa...

Again. Wish you luck. I am not, and do not know anyone that would condone this “conversion” or training method.

    Be safe.

IF you have a r744 unit.... just this alone is a problem. Not to mention the changes you are making.
