    Sheetmetal spot welder question

My brother bought a GDW-4 spot welder at an auction. It is made by Dura Dyne. The factory has no information available on it. The tag states 200 amps primary amps. I find it hard to believe it would pull 200 amps. I wired it into a 50 amp breaker to check it out. The amp draw was 26 amps. It works great. I wonder if the 200 amps is from a transformer inside the machine. Does anybody have any experience with this?

The tag has listed secondary current also at 26,000 amps. What is that?

You sure that's amps and not watts?

I would post a picture of the data plate but I don't know how.
