Replacing a wood burning insert with a gas insert?

    Hello,
I have a Regency wood burning insert installed 20 years ago in my original masonry fireplace. I can no longer load wood into the fireplace due to a handicap. I would like to have the wood burning insert replaced with a gas insert that I can operate by remote control. Here is my problem. The original masonry fireplace has a very small hearth. It is only 24" wide at the front tapering to 14" at the rear. The hearth is 24" high. At the time, the Regency wood burning insert was the smallest insert they made. My question is-- Is there a manufacturer that makes a gas insert that will fit this small hearth? Thank you.

60 sets under 18". Would have to check with dealer to see if back measurement works.

Another option would be a gas stove connected to your flue.
