Difference between Austin Air filter types

Austin Air has several different filter types that they offer, the HealthMate, HealthMate Plus, Pet, Allergy, and the Bedroom machine - to name most of them. Some use zeolite with the activated carbon, some use HEGA cloths.

My question:
1) Does any of this actually matter, or does the HEPA filter matter and almost nothing else?
2) Is there an objectively “best” Austin Air filter?

To add to that: Non OEMs like Filter Monster offer replacement filters at a fraction of the price, for example the Austin Air Bedroom machine filter. Are these technically exactly the same filters? Is anyone here experienced in ordering from a non OEM and what are you experiences with that?

(APOLOGIES for not posting links to the websites here as of yet. I don’t have enough points to be allowed to to so)
