Home warranty coverage
Hello,
I am a new homeowner that acquired a home warranty when purchasing the house. The furnace that came with the house is like 50-60 years old. The blower on the furnace recently started making squealing / rattling sounds. My question is, would a broken blower on this old of a unit usually entail a full furnace replace? Or would home warranty try to fix this

Not sure, but you should check your coverage. But they will probably just fix the broken part.
Many home warranty users are left with a very sour taste after they realize how poor the quality of service is.
We get a lot of very dissatisfied consumers here left with broken equipment after the warranty service.

.... Home Warranty XXXX ....
Ugh.
I hope they can fix your blower. Please don't let them sell you a new system without getting several bids from other companies.

Most likely they will try to repair it first, if parts are no longer available or they cannot repair it they may offer to replace it with a comparable model but not without some expense on your part.
Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat. (President Theodore Roosevelt)

Not likely for a home warranty company to replace a furnace on their dime.
They'll replace it if it can't be repaired. However They'll likely charge you for "betterment " and that means you will likely foot almost the whole bill.
My advice is to see if They'll repair it. If so then great.
If they can't repair it then get some of your own quotes on replacement.

Home warranty companies usually use the cheapest contractors they can find. That means you usually get poor quality of workmanship.
I would see if they'll give you a buy out and then you can find a good contractor to replace the old beast.
Where are you located? Try the contractor locator on this site.

I understand where you are coming from.... but, still... not very nice to say. Wish them well for now and help if we can.

I will say that not all warranty co are equal. Recently I did a water heater//flood with trim repair etc, added deductible in and they covered all without question. Same lady had a compressor fail, did it with deductible added and no questions. The owner whom I have known for 30yrs called me and I did the work then submitted the bill, maybe because of Covid? I was happy and so was she. I do know that she pays for the top tier policy.
