    Well yeah, that’s the problem plain as day, the bulb isn’t insulated!

    I wanna know how ANY corrosion got on the bulb...

    Ha! You might be on to something. It's a lot easier to insulate that suction line when that stupid thing-a-ma-jiggy isn't in the way. There... That's way better!

    its look like fair new, but the txv bulb is on the liquid line

    Corrosion on the bulb has me thinking it was installed correctly BEFORE the insulation was replaced.

    Maybe they did that to try to get a txv that was running out of bulb charge to open enough.

    We used to have a unit at work that the bulb was pulled out of the cabinet for that reason till we could get a replacement for that reason ..... weirdly it took a couple years till it was replaced. When it was finally pulled the strainer was mostly plugged.

    I had one were the bulb was in the coil cabinet in the supply air stream. Rhe owner saud they did alot of commercial refrigeration????? and not know how to hook up an expansion valve?
