opinions sought for central TX builds

We’re in the planning stages for two 4000 ft^2 SFRs in central Texas (between Austin & San Antonio). It’s a cooling-dominated hot and humid climate. Tight construction with foam insulation and unvented attics; all equipment will be located in conditioned space. HVAC “wants” for both structures include VRF systems, ERVs for fresh air, and supplemental dehumidification.
    Questions:

    1. Would ducted systems be best since a duct system will be needed for the ERV?

    2. Could one duct system be used for heat/cooling + ERV + dehumidifier?

    Thanks for thoughts and opinions.

    Yes
Furnace in attic ( with foam not really an attic ) , single duct system, variable volume blower, variable capacity condenser/heat pump, thermostat that controls humidity, and the fresh air ERV stuff. DO NOT let any contractor do anything without a " Manual J " heating/cooling load calculation, which here in Texas is a state regulation.
