    Poor Goodman..

I walked into this mess and didn’t have words to say. It took a hour to try and understand what somebody was thinking before I realized that they just didn’t know what they were doing.. it’s a 5 ton Goodman gas pack on 16” S/A and 16” R/A with 3 trunk lines coming off the main 16” the first run is 14” with a 12” TEE pointed down and reduced to 12” flex with another TEE pointed down and more flex without a end cap. The second trunk line is 12” running 20 foot hanging down over the rafter and the third is the same as the first.. all 3 have a 12” booster fan installed (which were originally installed backwards) keep in mind this is a 40x50 old building with 18’ ceiling and no insulation. The building gathers around 100-150 people every weekend. At one point in time someone ran (4) 8” runs to the bathrooms and office area but now all those are disconnected as if it would make a difference.. I’ve yet to make the customer realize that regardless of how pretty and perfect a new duct system is, it will never cool that space down especially when that many people gather in there. He said “it used to cool down to the 60s” and I said “maybe in the winter” haha Name: IMG_2185.JPG

It’s hard to tell but the middle flex line has nylon strapping tapped to the flex and tied off to the cattle gate ground level “holding” it in position haha

It’s a millennial thing not to put diffusers on ductwork.

Or to even know what a ductulator is, much less how to use one. I imagined people fighting for the seats under the first TEES that came through the wall haha

Livestock auction center, how often do you think those 2 cattle gates are open to let live stock circle through from the stock barn? Even 10 tons would struggle but the customer is dead set on believing that “with a correct duct system, it will work” I told him I wouldn’t take his money or waste my time unless he bought another 5 ton and two full duct systems and he wasn’t happy but I know what the outcome would be so oh well..
