    Sweet. I get to factor in that STHIL concrete saw I’ve always wanted into the quote for replacing that old hunk of junk. Plus think about how much heavier the coil is when you scrap it!

    Isn't that where PHM lives? I think that used to be a 4 ton unit but it had to be modified since he only needed one ton worth of cooling.

    What you can’t see is the condenser is folded inwards. It is now a split coil. This guy hires an HVAC sub to accomplish this new pad.

    I have changed out furnaces and boilers which had been installed using that method - but never a condensing unit. <g>

    All you would have to add is a float valve and a water supply line and then you could maintain a water level to just below the compressor terminals.

    For sure you see this done to furnaces all the time but this is special, and the saddest part is the way the lines are installed the unit could’ve been lifted up a foot or two and repositioned very easily.

    this is a classic case of the concrete guy showing up monday to pour. "that mother f ing GC said he was gonna have the HVAC guys out and have all their stuff move by today. Truck is on the way Ill show the SOB to not F with my pours again"
