AHU Filter pressure Drop rating required..
Good day Everyone,
I have been searching for this but can't find it anywhere, I would be glad if anyone can help..
There are different type of filters used in Air Handling Units and have different filtering levels, I require the pressure drop rating of the filters for differential pressure switch to be calibrated in order to get the status when the filter is really dirty.
Thank you..

You should try installing the filter you want. Then test the static pressure with and without. The filter pressure drop will vary depending on blower and duct size and blower rpm and torque.

Thank you @ksefan, I need to know how much pressure drop across my filter is required to sense it as a dirty filter?
Is there any constant pressure drop of each type of filter? Or do I have to calculate for every filter on each AHU?
for example if the pressure after the bag filter drops 5 psi the filter is considered as dirty.
Sorry I might sound dumb I am new to HVAC.
Thank you.

If the units and ducts are identical with no zoning. If not, test the each.

I would install the filter with the required merv rating, test the static, and compare with the manufacturer airflow charts and adjust airflow and retest static if required.

Pressure Drop across a filter
is determined based on the
_ FILTER FACE VELOCITY.
Select filter area which maintains < 250 FPM
+++++++++++++++++++++ Feet Per Minute
< 0.1" w.c. for 2" & 4" DEEP Filters
FPM = AIR FLOW RATE ( CFM ) / FILTER FACE AREA ( Square Feet)
