    9k + 9k + 24k = 36k??

    Im not the best at math but I know 9 + 9 + 24 = 42.

Im tagging along for an install of a multi zone mini split. Two bedrooms having 9k BTU head each and an open space having 24k (and Im fairly new to the trade) but I just want to understand this... why is the condenser at a rating of 36k BTU...?

Also, after doing the BTU calculations it says we will need 21,600 BTU for the open space. Thats how we got at the 24k number.. is it generally better to scale up or down in choosing the tonnage?

So if it's oversized it will most likely do less dehumidification.

    My Fujitsu book shows a 9, 9 and 24 to a 42

Each manufacture is different and specific what with what.

What brand are you dealing with?
