    That's the same rule I follow. I do raise the one on the stairs or wall higher and put a safety guard on it but never had issues with Ray Charles the inspector.

    I tried looking for something in writing pertaining to this.
    I've never seen this done in Ohio for residential applications.
    Now propane filling stations , gas stations absolutely.

    if i can find my currant code book i will but i know its been in our books for years if we put just one the inspectors say sorry have to have two
    the reason being to make sure the unit is off as if just one switch someone could turn it back on while you work on it.
