Non-essential businesses- does that include HVAC?

I keep hearing rumors Virginia might order all non-essential businesses to close and people to shelter in place tomorrow. I was thinking of calling it quits this week and sit at home because I know my company is too stubborn to be safe. Just wondering if anyone knows if HVAC is considered essential or not for those who are already in this situation.

I don’t mean to speak for all states, but in Delaware HVAC is considered essential service.
Pennsylvania and New Jersey are the same.
We are open and doing what we can tomorrow in all 3 of those states, plus Maryland.

YES , absolutely especially in southern states. April is here, imagine first hot spell and AC units not in service.Walk ins etc.
All specialty construction trades as electricians, plumbers, HVAC etc.are essential businesses except if the owner decides to close operations during this turmoil time.

I've read we are considered essential just as electricians and plumbers. In our region, people are not considering us essential at the moment due to mild temps with Spring taking it's sweet time (it snowed this morning).

However the first 80 degree day they will suddenly decide they can't live without us. Should be fun.
Is the Religious Right to blame for Christianity's decline?

They argued that, as the Religious Right became increasingly visible and militant, it became associated with Christianity itself. And if being a Christian meant being associated with the likes of Jerry Falwell, many people—especially political moderates and liberals—decided to simply stop identifying as Christians altogether.

We are considered essential and are still working out here. We’re pretty slow though and if construction jobs start shutting down, we’ll be mostly out of work.

absolutely, we are essential in New Yorkistan.

But, like I said in the other thread, business in March and April is traditionally dead.

I haven't had a service call in over a week.

I found it humorous that Dallas County’s list of essential businesses includes liquor stores.

There are Medical Marijuana Dispensaries in DE. I would imagine they are open but unsure.

I will say, for a day where the state of Delaware was suppose to be staying home, there was an awful lot of traffic and people out. Definitely less then normal but a lot more then I expected.

Liquor stores are very much essential for those who are addicted. Hard core alcoholics can actually die from sudden withdrawl symptoms.

Last night WA issued a stay at home order and all non essential businesses must close. Apparently we are considered essential.

    To respond to the OP,
Yes, HVAC/R as well as other skilled "Trades (professions in my mind)" are essential per PPD-21.
We just got our "Travel Papers" yesterday. I just hope to high heaven we we won't (ever) need them !

I am not surprised that liquor stores are allowed to remain open in many states. I think when things were lean in the Soviet Union they always seemed to have enough vodka
