    New Coil Installed Bent Fins

Just Had a new coil installed today and not sure what to think about the bent fins in a few places. This does not look right to me but I don't have any experience in this area. Is this normal for a new coil?

Not unusual, shouldn’t affect performance, if it bothers you, you can call the Installing Contractor out to comb out gingerly in those areas. You should have a labor warranty.

That’s typical between rolling off the assembly line to getting shipped to the distributor, loaded on a truck to the job site, then installed in your home, bumps happen. Those fins are extremely fragile and that small of an area isn’t going to affect anything.

Brand new units come that way frequently. It's from the mfg. assembly, like the others have stated. Nothing the contractor/dealer can do about it but complain to the mfg. Sadly, these are typically American made coils that are dented. The foreign made coils seem to be perfect as long as it was not mishandled in shipping.

Those are not terrible, but easily straightened with a fin comb. If I was installing it, I would have straightened them as a point of pride.

Not a major issue at all. This happens all day long. Yes - someone who takes pride in their work would have straightened them out. All you'll probably do is tick off the company by calling them back out. You can point it out during your next maintenance and have them take care of it then.

    I have to ask

You had this system replaced 7 years ago so why another coil replacement?
