    N4 Version no longer starts

Last week installed N4 4.7.109 version Used it twice OK
    Suddenly it does not open
Start Platform and Click on normal shortcut, as I normally do
Today my vendor sent me another copy of the version via drop box
Downloaded it , Unzipped and Installed it attempts to run, but stops.
License is good till April 2020

Sounds like a Windows update screwed you up. Have you tried “run as administrator” ?

    Yes Unfortunately it did update
I did run it as Administrator.
I cleaned out my temp and recycle bin files also.
Can this be a JAva Issue?

Looks like a file permission issue to me. Guessing its trying to access the user home and getting shot down.

Would take a peek in the event viewer for some bread crumbs. win 10, check if protected folder access is on and what its recently blocked.

do you have access to 4.8?
I was having the same issue on that same version, our senior tech seems to believe that it was cause by non standard modules.

Windows is blocking the jvm from accessing the niagara user home.

It's basically saying the exception is being thrown during initialization ("main" thread). It's on the Java side and nothing to do with custom modules.

I used to joke that fdisk was the best utility microsoft ever released, it fixes everything. You use fdisk to wipe out your C:\, reinstall windows and everything works great again.

just reinstall Niagara into a new directory, rename the old one or delete it. Looks like some modules are not transferring across during install, do you have an antivirus?
