hahah not implying that. Climate controlled greenhouses aren't a new concept, but genetics are radically different requiring better technology to "dial in" our ideal conditions.

Looks like you had lots of fun!

    *Fresh air
    *Heat
    *Cooling
    *RH
    *CO2 content
    *Watering
    *Water based growth enhancers (fertilizer)
    ALL were controlled...

Bet you did not know that technology was available back in the 'dark ages'...

    Hmmm...

    So called expert...

Maybe because we have been there???

    Does experience count???

Or is the 'glitter' one reads on the internet all that matters???

Note GA (me) is not taking cheap shots at anyone...
Rather trying to get folks to think 'outside the box'
AND... outside their self built box!

Most of us are seasoned business folks... who have run businesses for decades...
We have that elusive thing called experience...

We have one grow operation here that got approval from the state to use a greenhouse.. Natural light with supplemental electric light. And they grow organic weed!
Thanks Juan! I'll look into this more! Yes! greenhouses are starting to blow up with light dep features. That would be ideal but thats for possibly phase 2 or 3 in our project.

Yes... it was a lot of fun... and had Jimmy Carter not de-regulated N/gas (the way we heated the greenhouses)...
Which gave the folks down in 'the valley' (the most southern part of the state of Texas) a huge financial advantage...
I may well still be running a greenhouse growing operation outside Houston.

One does, however, have to look at the numbers and make decisions...
And it was obvious I was attempting to win a horse-race with a nag, so to say.

Sold the operation to someone who wanted to do it...

And yes, it was a lot of fun!

Even without GM plants or digital controls...

Do you have a copy of 'Exotica'... the 3" thick book that details EVERY plant that mankind knows of... that grows on earth? Interesting book...

BTW: we did orchids for a while... finicky things... yet figured them out!

Absolutely it counts! That's why people like me come here to hear from people like yourself. But note I clearly wasn't referring to you at all. Just one negative person.

Inquirers don't need negativity and a reminder that we AREN'T the expert at every corner because that literally accomplishes nothing, and is antithetical to why we come here in the first place. I mean is that the way business owners speak to their clients? "You're cheap and you don't know what you're talking about?". I believe you would agree with me on that one.

I don't believe it's too much to ask for some basic courtesy.

In no way am I trying to cut corners with my climate control - any grow operator knows thats ludicrous.

Why is there always some "expert" on an imaginary high horse in forums? I mean how low must one go to look at a question from a person who needs help, pick out a word "Cost Effectiveness" and then characterize them as cheap? Thats the difference between a real expert in forums like @teddybear vs yourself.
Never said I was an expert. Just damn near 50 years experience!
