We just did 2-20 ton systems, for a smaller gymnasium. Went back on final inspection.. found this kitten, with its head pokin out of one of the 20 ton Trane bottom rails. We got it free, but taped up all the small openings, and left the 2 large openings open. Went to the only convenience store, bout a can of food and put it by one of the openings.
All while momma kitty watched from a distance.. crying..
Good deed for the day done. I went back the next day to collect, food and kitten gone

You can keep them. I have a bunch of feral cats across the street from me which is bad enough. Add to that people feel sorry for them so they come by and feed them twice a day but different people at different times. Birds love the cat food, watch for the cats to leave then swoop down, pick some up then perch on the wires on my side of the street crappin'. After the scrap yard closes the raccoons come out to get their share. Then at some point the cats make their way across the street and use my property as a toilet. I have told these feeders more than once if they love the cats so much take them home, they are still here.

It would have died there. I was it's last hope.
Are you saying you would leave it there..?

I'm just saying they cause me a lot of headaches. It really isn't the cats so much as the stupid people that think they are doing a good thing feeding them all the time. The issue becomes they have no natural population control so they just keep gaining in numbers. If people would let them fend for themselves then the natural food supply would limit them and stop other wildlife from moving in.
I should probably include on of these people have a building with 50 ish cats in it that are overflow from the Humane Society.
The wife (and me) have a cat named Armie(Army) after our Grandson just joining the US Army, a recently passed dog named Freon and another cat named Smoken (for what?lol)
I live in the country we have 2 or 3 wild cats around most of the time. You could not pet or catch them if you tried. Usually a litter of kittens around each spring. I put some food out once a day couple cups of regular dry cat food and kind of blocked off an area under the steps so they can get out of the weather. I've got corn on three sides and timber on the fourth. Since I've kind of been keeping the cats around my mouse count in the house has dropped to almost nothing. The cats do not live very long. There's one he's about 4 years old but he's not very healthy this winter. I'll be surprised if he's still around in the spring.
I would have saved the kitten as well... I don't like cats.. but the kitten is innocent to what happened by man in this case so deserves a second shot IMO.
