    Chilled water leak

    Dears

I have leak in chilled water leak in network. Observed consumption of make up water 60 l/hr.

Didn't found leak by visual inspection of pump rooms.

Is there any way to find leak area?

Cracked U bend in a coil? Are the condensate drains plumbed right over a floor drain?

If you have them I would start with checking the automatic air bleeders. You can walk the pipe at the same time. Then go to the coils.

Failed plate heat exchanger that has secondary pressure lower than chilled water loop pressure .

Except that the OP says he confirmed there are no leaks by visually inspecting the pump rooms.

With commercial work, Many times, the problem doesn’t exist in the room with the problem.

I can walk into a building with 100 VAV boxes, and look in the mechanical room, and determine there’s no leak in that room.....doesn’t mean there aren’t any leaks out in the other 10,000 feet of piping.

Pretty sure Healy was implying an internal leak to the lower pressure side. This would not be visually apparent.

Have you noticed an increase in water volume in the lower pressure system?

Yes, I was being facetious. If that were the case, the leak would be visually apparent, but he would still be required to leave the room to find it! LOL!
