    Returns

On my new returns, I plan to install, is it okay if they are bigger than my supplies for my 4 bedrooms? An example would be, Bedroom one has a 8 inch supply. Can I put in a 12 inch return?

Read manual D duct design. You must calculate the amount of flow/ volume for each space and provide an ample return path for each. So, if you over-size returns in bedrooms and under size communal spaces then you will be upsetting the balance of your designed air flow. If you have ample returns in all spaces, it won’t matter how large the returns are, as you can only return as much as you supply. With that said, air flows to the path of least resistance.
