Is that dual fuel? Or is that photo shop?

I'm tired of these mediocre "semi flammable" refrigerants. If we're going to do it let's do it right.
Unless we change direction we are likely to end up where we are going.

My guess is some cheesy plumber/so-called-technician replaced a gas one with an electric one...then charged them for a GAS one. A typical H/O without proper knowledge would likely never know the difference.

In the end, work done by someone who makes us ALL look like crooks!

That white thing is just the support for the draft hood and flue pipe. Who would want it falling down and looking all sloppy?

I bought a house years ago that had been HUD approved. it had one of those small gas heaters, that doesn't require a vent, hanging on the wall. but this one had a vent pipe on it.....I thought it was odd, as I'd never seen one with a vent installed.

we argued about taking it down because I didn't want to fix a hole in the ceiling. then I just got mad and hit it with a hammer. someone had just screwed it to the ceiling and caulked around it. I found out later that the HUD inspector made the previous owner "install a vent" so it would pass their inspections.

could be the same situation here....the stupidity of inspectors can also be boundless.

Power company in our area gives away electric water heaters
Think they were just being lazy and didn’t take down the old vent
We also plugged off old gas line they had just cut off at valve

Interesting.....do they install them, or sub it out, or is it owner's responsibility?

I bet someone in corporate got a bonus for that idea! LOL!

They just give away water heater you have to find someone to install
Sometimes they give set amount for labor so customers find the cheapest person they can to install

Wonder if they just replaced it and didn't want to remove the old stuff.
