    Huge project

This house has a Trane 5 ton HP with 4 zones for one section of the house, 2.5 ton for another. Also a guest suite with radiant floor heat and mini-split AC.

Trane AH’s are a TEM6 for the 2.5 ton system mates to an XR15 HP and a TAM9 AH for the zones system mated to an XV18 HP.

Knees were hurting this week so I told the guys I wanted to focus on working in the garage and beautifying everything in there. Let the young guys run the crawl space ductwork for the zones . Here is my work. Kind of backwards as the more finished are first but you get the idea. Still a bunch of low voltage wiring, zoning, drain etc. to do but that will be done on trim. Cheers.

What happens to the supply? Does it go thru the floor?

The return should have turning vanes in the 2 elbows.

Is there electric heaters? I could see them cycling on limit.

    Looks pretty good.

Why the mixture of tape and mastic? Why not just use all mastic or use all tape?

Yes. It’s downflow. We didn’t do the original rough-in, just making the best with what we were left with. Previous company lied about being able to get Trane equipment which the customer preferred.

Probably should but I am pretty happy with it. If I notice any issues in startup I will address.

Not sure why? This system will be commissioned properly and the initial static test by the Trane “brain” will let me know.

Because some places and procedures I don’t want mastic all over me. I like to keep my clothes clean. If I think there is a chance of rubbing my azz or elbow in the stuff I will use the tape. If it’s up in the air then I will break out the bucket.

    Cheers.
