    Well that was fun

Goodman furnace, about 5 years old, was making a funny noise when it ran. Diagnosed a hole in the heat exchanger the day before Thanksgiving, finally came in on December 17th.. Upon doing the job I pull the fuse and double check to make sure the power was off, weird my tester was indicating power, hmm.. So I investigate and find they hooked the neutals up to the SSU! After fixing that and getting ready to take the gas valve out, I find there no union on the piping! Great! That was fun.. Finally get the heat exchanger out, yup there's a hole. Put the new in and turn everything on, and manifold pressure was around 6.5.. probably was never adjusted the day it was installed. Fun day. First heat exchanger replacement checked off though!

Gas pressure at 6.5", per OP.

I assume you put a union in where the coupling is in the gas line?

Can't tell if that downflow furnace is setting on a combustible floor? Running that over-fired, they are lucky that nothing more than a burned out heat exchanger happened.

Some of those Goodman furnaces came with a new furnace if HX fails within the 1st 10 years once registered, not saying this one does, but that’s a nice feature.

Look at all the rust and condensation on the burner.

I guess they put the gas pipe together before the csst was hooked up
