    lennox wifi thermostat aux heat

2018 Lennox XP14 heat pump, CBX-MV32 air handler with wifi icomfort thermostat.
    No dual-fuel; electric only.

Auxiliary heat kicks in readily, without any large temperature differential. After contractor initially said the differential cannot be changed, a1.5F degree differential was set.

With the house T-stat set to 68F, auxiliary heat will kick in when the t-stat reads 67F and even 68F, which suprises me because it will do this even when it's above 40F outside.

WiFi is not enabled and there is no outdoor temperature sensor reading.

Are there some thermostat adjustments our contractor can or should make to reduce AUX heat kicking in so readily? Or is it better to simply "set it and forget it"???

    Thanks!
    Greg

Connect it to wifi. Then set the aux heat lock out to X degree outdoor temp.

Found part of our problem. The thermostat 2nd stage was set at 0.5F differential instead of at the least the default setting of 1.5F, so aux was kicking in readily and often. Jiminy crickets. Might 2.0F or 2.5F or 3.0F differential setting be better or is that a bit overkill?

    Thanks!

See how 1.5 works for you. If not to your liking, try the others.
