splice a cap tube?

Replacing the evaporator coil on a reach in cooler and the last foot or so of the cap tube broke off. Given the hassle in replacing the entire cap tube, any acceptable way to re attach or splice on a new section?

Reconnect the two halves with the next size up tubing.

Yeah, done it a few times myself, everything worked fine afterwards.

Get yourself a micro flare block and swedging kit. I'm just kidding, well at least I think I'm kidding. I have also had success with using a small chunk of 1/4" or 3/8" tubing (and a Channellocks) to splice a cap tube back together.

Yeah the smallest I have is 1/4" unless I want to buy a roll of cap tubing just to get a few inches to splice the two together.

I carry 3/16 tubing for this. never had a problem.
