    NEW BRAND!!!

See the banner at the top. Hot, new brand from Ingersoll Rand.

RUN TRU! Wow, what a name. But it does beat OXBOX, the last new brand by IR. Wonder if they will keep that brand, it's Midea equipment and between Drumpf's tarrifs and the fact that UTX has money in Midea, I heard IR is trying to get away from Midea.

My colleague saw Ameristar being built in Tyler, it looks identical to this RUN TRU stuff. All of it appears to be AS/Trane equipment with cosmetic changes. RUN TRU only has a 5 year parts, like WeatherKing from Rheem.

I don't think you'll see that. This is basic efficiency equipment designed to compete with lower end stuff in the new construction market. I believe the equipment will be badged "Run Tru by Trane". I'd have to dig out the sheet my Ferguson rep gave me but I believe a bunch of the coils are piston metered. I haven't seen pricing yet.

These are builders models for the track home market. You know, the subdivisions where all the houses look the same just flipped the other way.

DO be aware that unlike the traditional Tranes, the those units have all the coil joints on the inside, not outside, so it involves a different manufacturing process.

Remember what they say about new model cars....

Says 10 years compressor and coil and for parts 5. Says no registration required. Does not say “up to a certain SEER “ like other brands. 13-14 SEER models.

I’ve installed one. A 5 ton ac. The cabinet is square like a weather king. Spine fin connections inside. Metal base pan and service valves sit flat on the ground. 5 screw quarter panel removal and 8 screw fan shroud removal. Thin flimsy metal but stiff where it needs to be. Does not include filter drier. Cabinet is overly big for the coil to prevent the ability to press it into the coil. Like 6” too big.

I figured being made in Tyler that they'd use Spine Fin. Ameristar looks just like it now, giving Midea the boot.
