    Lineset

I am having my 15 year old Condenser and Air Handler replaced. Right now my lineset, consisting of my copper lines and drain, are enclosed inside my cinder block wall except for my electrical. Almost all of the installation quotes that I have received, want to replace and run the copper lines and drain on the outside of my home. These lines would go from my attic down to the condenser on the side of my house. My question is what type of cover do you normally use to cover the copper lines and drain. Also, should the copper lines be insulated? If I am not mistaken my existing copper lines are not insulated where they run down the inside of my cinder block wall.

On the no frill side and a cheap alternative ( vertical run ) there’s the ole reliable aluminum or vinyl downspout. Comes in many colors.

What do the bidding Contractors use and suggest?

I failed to ask so I don't know. What would be the expensive channel besides the downspout?

Don’t think they are overly expensive, one example, line-hide and a bunch of other brands.
