Confused Goodman MSH15 Ductless heatpump freezing up

    Hi guys! Newbie here...
I'm from Quebec Canada and here Its pretty cold in the winter.

Last winter my heatpump was all freezing up with ice, this summer I had it checked and it was missing some gaz. The guy filled it up and check for leak, none.
Ran fine for the whole summer.

This winter I stil have the freezing problem. The unit goes into defrost, but its like if little of the ice is melting, in fact I can't see any water flowing or melting.

I need some help as the guys is not doing services anymore for my pump and the next one kind of want $ just to come and for the 1h30 of work.

    Thanks!

You cannot just “fill” an inverter drive ductless heat pump. If low charge is suspected the refrigerant charge must be pulled and weighed.
Either there is a leak or it was never charged correctly from the beginning.

They guys would probably have to order a part, and then come back and charge me another $ to come and install it? Unit total cost me $, $ I could live with it but $ is pusing it just to come and checking it.

    Unfortunately it was done improperly.
Was this unit bought on the internet or by you?

Then stay cold. We aren’t going to get it running from here and if you read the site rules you would already know we don’t talk money here.
