I had something similar from them. They were good for about 6 months. But, thats what I get from pretty much any boot I buy. I figured I try them out, cause I like most of Duluths other gear. But, I did not like them enough to buy again.

I typically wear Red Wings, or Thorogoods.

I just prefer a classic boot style.

I used to buy Red Wings (about 10 years ago) they have gotten too expensive. And now made in China(which pisses me off).If I'm going to pay that much money, at least be made in the good old USA!!!Anyway,I was wearing wolverines for a while. They were pretty good.I just bought my first pair of Thorogoods.I'm liking the Thorogoods pretty much.I may be staying with Thorogood now.

I just bought one during this Black Friday, it costs me $119. It looks really cool, but really it is not good with my foot, not comfortable

Both Red Wings and Thorogood have some boots made in USA, and others not.

Thorogood probably has more that are.

But either way, you have to check if thats important for you, like it is for me.

The ones I buy from either are made in USA.

Do you see a difference in the quality of the boots made in the US and China

I like Thorogood, Union Made in Wisconsin. Nice looking and quality. Much of Redwing are not made here.

Go back and re-read heatingman's post. Much of Thorogood's line up isn't made here either. Last time I looked at my local Fleet Farm, maybe 1/4 of them were Made in USA, the rest said Made in China on the tags.

More a difference in how they are assembled. The classic american/euro styles have sewn on soles. I think they call it a goodyear welt.

The modern styles and foreign ones are made more like gym shoes with glued on soles.

Made in USA Redwings can be resoled (vibram lug) had mine done $99 +tax. Free shipping, new laces and insole pads with clean and polished. Took about a month but they get sent to factory.
Theyre not my everyday boots, mainly for winter, so the wait didnt bother me. Besides the free shipping I wasnt expecting the other services

How do you handle going inside for a min or two? Disposable booties when muddy or wet?
