That all depends on where you are located and what the cooling tower is being used for.

If the job is completed, why are the tower fans running?
Tower fans shouldn’t be running constantly.

Need to see what the tower operation manual says or individual manuals (motor, gearbox, vfd, etc.) say. I gather all the manuals for my equipment preferably in pdf format. Store it somewhere on my computer. Then I can easily search the pdfs for any information once it is collected.

We are in the Open General discussion area. What is the purpose of the fan with water flowing? If there is no water present does the fan have a purpose? The answer may come from your knowledge of the system or it is likely to be found in the manufacturers Operating and Maintenance Instructions.

    Good Luck

Back when I worked out in the field I would sometimes see a maintenance guy do something... questionable. When I'd ask why do you that, almost always the answer would be "that's the way we've always done it. That's how I was taught by the guy before me".

So is the fan running right now? With no water in the tower?
