Isnt that what the helper is for?

If I can, I tape first then put that thing in the closet.

I used credit cards for years before the idea of using a body-putty (Bondo) applicator occurred to me. Eventually I saw a display showing a 'taping tool' sitting out with the tape. In a pinch I have just used my hand - inside of a cotton work glove.

Usually a guy with the brain of a goldfish. Forgets things in a few hours. Have to tell them the same thing everyday...always wants to know what time is lunch and when is quitting time. And seems to think he can work with a tool in one hand while he's 'LOL'ing with his phone in the other.
If I do a job in 30 minutes it's because I spent 30 years learning how to do that in 30 minutes. You owe me for the years, not the minutes.

Do not recommend tool. 1.5/5 stars. Does not always apply enough pressure and leaves red stains on ductwork. Manufacturer refuses to replace defective tool. Made in USA quality not what it once was.

Screw this to a drive. The rounded edge of the clip can act as a squeegee.

We call that 'putty hands'. You can change the t's to s's. Toughen them up! lol
I'm pretty sure every time I touch sheet metal, I'm getting nicked too.
