Help with purging a zone

I replace the Taco 007-F5 circulator. The old one sounded like a washing machine and was not pumping any hot water. This is a 6 zone Crown boiler and the only issue I have is this one zone. The other 5 zones are doing fine and connected to an air coil in an air handler. This one serves baseboard in the common areas of this office building.

There is only a dribble of water coming out when I do a power purge on this zone. It has a Taco 218 Flowchek which I suspect is causing the issue. I think the other circ pump got fried to to no water flow.

The circ pump is on the return side into a return header with the other zones.

Is that PRV open to fast fill? Should hear the flow.
There might be a manual open on the flow check which could be stuck.

Number 1 a fill can’t be installed in that position. Now if it were me, I’d lock off every zone that’s working increase boiler pressure and try purging. If you still aren’t getting flow, then I would start looking for the restriction in the line. But once all done, I would re pipe that fill to put it in the horizontal position.

That is what I was thinking. I was wondering if the flow check could be clogged somehow. The water that came out on the purge was real filthy.

I wnever had a problem with a check valve, wonder if there is a way to adjust it to open more?

Great advice. Thanks. I did not think about shutting off the other zones. That is normally how I do my purge. The baseboards have no bleaders on them.

It takes at least pump pressure to open the flow check. Closing off the other zones might get it to open with fast fill pressure. I have loosened them by exercising the manual open function several times.

did you close the valve under the pump so you can push the water through the baseboard?

You need another Hose Bib on the supply line and a separate pump and bucket too eliminate any air!

Why? He said pumps are on the return. Your feeding fresh water on the supply and by the picture you can properly purge any zone on the return while filling. No need for anything additional added on the supply.

Looks like on the top of the supply line on the far right there is a coin vent also.

I go back to my original comment.

1) re pipe that fill valve correctly.
2) lock off the other zones and force the water through the zone that’s air bound.
3) purge said air out
4)obviously make sure your air eliminator is working.
5) if the above dose not work figure out what’s stopping your flow.
