    Venison neck roast

This is my first go at it and I'll report back tomorrow. Buddy came by with another deer yesterday. His second one this season so I got to keep half of it.

    About 3lbs of meat
1 large white onion cut in 1" pieces
    1 lb baby carrots
2 lbs small red potatoes cut in half
1 package Lipton beefy onion soup mix
1/2 bulb of garlic finely chopped
    2 celery sticks
    1 small package of mushrooms
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp pepper
    1 can diced tomatoes
    1-1/2 cups water

Water goes in the crockpot first. Add onion and garlic. Put the meat on top of the onions. Soup mix, salt and pepper on top of the meat. Carrots, potatoes, celery, mushrooms to top it all off. Cook on low for 8-10 hours. Stir in the diced tomatoes at the halfway mark.
I'll report back tomorrow with the results.

Infukincredible... Needed a little more salt and pepper to taste but the venison was tender and I could cut it with a fork. 10 hours on low was the total time in the crock pot. I've been eating it everyday for lunch.

Smoking another batch of jerky right now

This going to sound messed up it did to me anyway. Read an article from a gal on a hunting group, to put deer roast in crockpot 8-10 hrs covered in pace picantee sauce sp? And a can of low sodium beef broth.Pour beef broth around the roast and put the pace on top the roast covering the meat.I read you can use beer instead of beef broth, but I wasn’t sharing It was delicious

I have a pot roast recipe that uses Guinness and beef bullion cubes rather than water and soup mix. This was better. My chili recipe uses beer as well an I'll put my chili up to the best of them.
