    Properly Sizing Natural Gas Lines

    Hello Everyone,
I am a HVAC service technician and just recently was asked to install a new 300k unit heater in an existing building with existing appliances.

I did the gas pipe calculations according to the Questar Gas book and the way I understand It I need a two pound meter.

My question is; how far away from the appliance do you size the pipe? For example, do you size the pipe all the way to the unit? Do you size the pipe within three feet of the unit?

    Thanks in advance

Looks like 1" is good for 20' everything after that would need to be larger.
