new style lineset insulation not holding up

I've noticed that the white insulated stuff on linesets does not seem to be holding up at all. in 6 mo is chalky and the very outer layer rubs off.

saw a new job this week, linesets on roof on year old job can see the grey stuff under the white outer layers. I though this stuff was to be better than the rubatex/ar,aflex?

Yeah I heard as well it's supposed to be " the cat's meow " first negative I've heard.
    Thanks for the heads up.

I've heard there's issues with the white stuff eating the copper after a few years. Aside from a couple videos on the internet I don't know if any or anyone that's had problems, but hopefully that's not true.

Question: Do AC lines in the attic need to be hung off the rafter/roof trusses or can it be laying on top of the attic insulation?

Well that would take extra time and effort. Only quality minded tradesman do that.

Vibration can occur with hard strapped linesets. Isopads work wonders. Belly-strapping helps too. Dont strap straight to joists.
